I've been meaning for years to post on here. I'll start now by saying hello.
On this blog I will discuss executive function, at least as I understand it, and related mental health issues, through my personal lens. I expect to do some combination of the following:
- Offer ideas and approaches that have helped me and might help others.
- Try to explain executive function in a way that makes sense to people who don't struggle with it.
- Share musings, opinions, hypotheses, and flat-out guesses that may or may not make a lick of sense.
- Share things from social media, often from people who write about ADHD.
One reason I've put off posting on this blog (well, besides procrastination being a classic EF-related problem) is that I've hesitated to "out" myself. I hope I don't regret it.
I'm not an expert or authority. Just a regular person who deals with certain difficulties on a daily basis. I don't know whether I have ADHD. I do have sleep issues that I'm sure are related to my EF issues as both a cause and an effect. I'm pretty sure diet and metabolism are factors.
So now I've posted on here. I've broken the ice. Let's see what happens next.
